1. General Rules
These Rules and Regulations apply to all markets and betting activities on Sharp Exchange. By placing a bet, you confirm you have read and accepted these rules.
- All bets are subject to the rules set out on this page
- Sharp Exchange reserves the right to void any market or bet at its sole discretion
- In the event of a conflict between sport-specific rules and general rules, sport-specific rules take precedence
- Sharp Exchange's decision on all matters relating to results and settlement is final
- Rules may be updated at any time — it is your responsibility to check for updates
2. Exchange Betting Rules
Sharp Exchange operates as a peer-to-peer betting exchange. This means:
- Back bets — You bet that a selection will win
- Lay bets — You bet that a selection will NOT win (acting as the bookmaker)
- Bets are only settled once matched with a counterparty on the exchange
- A commission charge is deducted from net winnings on each market. Your current commission rate is displayed in your account settings
- Unmatched bets may be cancelled if market is suspended or event starts before matching
- In-play markets may be suspended at any time at our discretion
3. Market Settlement
Markets are settled as soon as an official result is confirmed. For most sports we use the following settlement sources:
- Official league/governing body results
- Verified third-party data providers
- In-play data feeds from official sources
If an event is abandoned, postponed, or declared void, all bets will be voided and stakes returned unless otherwise stated in sport-specific rules.
Note: In the event of a settlement error, Sharp Exchange reserves the right to correct the error within 72 hours of the original settlement.
4. Soccer Rules
- All markets are settled based on the result at 90 minutes including injury time unless otherwise stated
- Extra time and penalty shootouts do NOT count for standard match betting markets
- If a match is abandoned before 90 minutes, all markets are void unless a result has already been determined
- If a match is postponed and not played within 48 hours, all bets are void
- Asian Handicap markets — if the game is abandoned, stakes are returned
- Correct Score markets are settled on the final score at 90 minutes
5. Cricket Rules
- Match Odds markets are settled on the official match result
- If a match is abandoned due to weather with no result, all bets are void
- For T20 and ODI formats, the D/L method result is used if the match cannot be completed normally
- In the event a match is reduced in overs before it starts, revised markets will reflect the new format
- Tied matches — for match winner markets, stakes are returned unless a super over is played
- Series Winner markets — voided if fewer than the expected number of matches are played
6. Tennis Rules
- Match Odds — if a player retires or is disqualified after the match has started, the player who progresses is settled as the winner
- If a match has not started (walkover), all bets are void
- Set betting markets are void if the full number of sets are not completed
- In-play markets are settled on the score at the time of suspension where applicable
- Venue changes (indoor/outdoor, surface) — bets stand if the match is moved to a different venue on the same day
7. Horse Racing Rules
- All markets are settled on the official result declared by the racing authority
- Non-runners — stakes are returned for back bets on non-runners. Lay bets on non-runners are also voided
- Rule 4 deductions may apply when horses are withdrawn from a race
- Dead heats — winnings are divided proportionally between the tied selections
- Void races — all bets are void if a race is declared void before completion
- Each-Way markets — Win part settled at full odds; Place part at stated fraction
8. Basketball Rules
- All markets are settled on the official result including overtime unless stated otherwise
- If a match is abandoned before completion, all bets are void unless a result has been officially declared
- Handicap markets — overtime counts unless stated otherwise
- If a match is postponed and played within 48 hours, bets stand
9. Disputes
If you believe a market has been settled incorrectly, you may raise a dispute within 72 hours of settlement by contacting our support team.
- All disputes must be submitted in writing via email or live chat
- Sharp Exchange's decision on all disputes is final and binding
- We will aim to resolve all disputes within 5 business days
